BISD sending four athletes to compete at 5A state track meet in five events this weekend

Three Chargers and one Greyhound will compete at the 5A state track and field meet this Friday in Austin and all will be entered in running events.

Champion’s Charlie Houck and Boerne High’s Aaron Garcia will start things off Friday morning in the first race of the day, the 3200.

Houck has the second- best time going into the meet with a 9:25.32, just behind El Paso’s Miles Westbrook, who posted a 9:25.00 at his regional race.

Garcia comes in with the seventh-best time and ran a 9:32.95 at regionals.

Houck is also entered in the last individual race of the day, the 1600. His time of 4:19.17 has him seeded fourth going into Friday.

Champion’s Caleb Dehart runs in the 800 Friday and enters the meet with a 1:55.34 and is seeded sixth.

Charger Jamarri Bowie competes in the 400 and posted a 48.04 and is seeded seventh going into the race.
