11 Boerne ISD basketball players named all-district

Boerne ISD had 11 girls basketball players named all-district as voted upon by the coaches in 26-5A.

Of the 11, six were from Boerne High and five were from Boerne Champion.

First-team selections for the Lady Hounds include seniors Chloe Donnell and Jenna Ruede, while Champion Addison Darter was also a first-team pick.

Seniors Meredith Mcleod and Savannah Salinas from Boerne High, along with Champion senior Hailey Winn landed on the second team.

Five more from BISD made honorable mention after Champion seniors Ainsley Darter, Taylor Burk and Abby Sommer and BHS junior Oleyvia Ramos and freshman Addison Saur were named HM.

Champion finished the year at 4-12 in 26-5A (16-17 overall), while Boerne placed third in the district standings at 12-5 (21-13 overall) and was the only BISD team to make the playoffs this year.

The Lady Hounds drew Cedar Park in the opening round and lost a heart breaker after the Lady Wolves hit a half-court shot at the buzzer to claim the 43-40 win.
