Norene Marie (Brandt) Brauner, 81, of Boerne, Texas, died May 13, 2025, in Boerne. She was born Aug. 24, 1943, to Harold Louis and Alice Margaret (Reins) Brandt in Columbus, Nebraska.
She was baptized Sept. 9, 1943, and confirmed her faith on April 14, 1957, at St. John Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska.
Norene attended St. John’s Lutheran School in her younger years and graduated May 14, 1961, from Creston High School. On June 20, 1965, she married E. Ladean Brauner at St John’s Lutheran Church. Their union would result in four children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, which became the focus of her life.
After earning an associate’s degree in accounting from Nebraska’s Central Community College, she moved to Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, where she served as the school district’s financial accountant and secretary. After moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, she was an accountant with Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System and subsequently became a certified IT professional.
Following retirement in 2010, she moved to Boerne, where she became active at Terraces at Cibolo senior living community and St. John Lutheran Church. Her faith was in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she has found peace in his awaiting arms.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held for her Texas family and friends from 4:30-7:30 p.m. May 22, 2025, at the Terraces at Cibolo clubhouse. Traditional services in Columbus, Nebraska are pending finalization.
Norene is survived by two sons, Gregory Brauner of Duncan, Nebraska, and Jason Brauner of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Stephanie (Chip) Chandler of Boerne, and Valerie (Gustavo Gonzales Jr.) Brauner of Boerne; three grandchildren, Jacob Brauner (Regan Gombert) of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, and Wyatt and Brady Chandler of Boerne; and great-grandchildren Dyllon Marie and Colson Edward Brauner.
