Join the Patrick Heath Public Library this summer on a captivating and colorful journey around the world! Mark your summer calendars with all these colorful children’s events.
Summer Kick Off with Mr. Twisty Monday, June 2 at 110:30 a.m., for ages 0-11. Enjoy interactive balloon storytelling with Mr. Twisty and learn to make twisty art of your own.
Weekly Programs Tuesdays
• 9:30 a.m., Bubbletime Bookworms: A story time for babies 0-2 years old that features stories, songs, movement, bubbles, and stay-and-play time!
• 10:30 a.m., Colorful Critters: A real-life petting zoo experience for children 0-11 years with Happy Tails Mobile Petting Zoo, featuring mini but marvelous goats, cows, horses, pigs and more!
Wednesdays
• 10:30 a.m., Little Listeners: A storytime for children 2 years-and-up with lively tales, tunes, movement, puppets and crafting.
Thursdays
• 9:30 a.m., Bubbletime Bookworms: A story time for babies 0-2 years old that features stories, songs, movement, bubbles and stay-and-play time.
Fridays
• 10:30 a.m., Colorful Culinary Creations: A culinary experience for elementary-age children that features a new “Head Chef” each week, who will teach your junior chef how to make tasty treats. Space is limited to 30 children on a first-come basis.
Special Programs
• Step Back in Time: At Herff Farmers Market at 10:30 a.m. June 28 and July 26. An interactive experience for all ages to learn the story of the historical Herff homestead.
• Colors of the World Dance Performance at 10:30 a.m. July 19 @ 10:30 a.m. A performance of colorful choreography by youthful dancers that will have the audience clapping and tapping along, with free Kelani Yogurt for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Storytimes at Herff Farmers Market, 10:30 a.m. June 14 and July 12. An off-campus storytime featuring tales, tunes, crafting and tasty treats.
• PeeWee Pinspirations, 10:30 a.m. on June 16, and 3 p.m. on July 14. Little artists and their grown-ups come color outside the lines with us as we guide you through a fun, hands-on craft perfect for elementaryaged kids.
Colorful Closing Party!
Family Foam Party, 10:30 a.m. July 21. Take the plunge into fountains of colorful foam. Frolic to the music — and enjoy rainbow sherbet. Highly recommended: Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet.
Weekly Fun
• Weekly Reading Challenges: Little readers can pick up their challenge sheets starting June 2. Complete your choice of challenges each week to be entered into a weekly raffle for a chance to win a prize from our display case of treasures.
• Weekly Eye Spy: Find that Froggy! Kermit the Frog got lost looking for his Rainbow Connection. Find Kermit and get your choice of a treasure chest prize.
• Storywalk on Old No. 9: Stroll along our Storywalk Trail and discover a rainbow of colorful critters.
All Age Programming CHALK IT UP: 2 p.m. June 7. Join us for our firstever chalk art festival while enjoying local vendors, free food and voting on your favorite chalk art. Open to kids of all ages, and kids at heart.
Festival of Colors
Inspired by the Indian Holi Festival, come celebrate a flashy finish to the summer on July 26b at 6 p.m. with food, music, crafts and a celebration of color. Don’t forget to wear white.
