A dozen Boerne ISD softball players – six Greyhounds and six Chargers – were 26-5A All-District selections for the 2025 season.

Boerne High senior Ava Renteria, along with Boerne Champion junior Myler Parker and Boerne Champion sophomore Torin Tucker were first-team selections.

Boerne High junior Jesseanna Aguirre and Boerne High junior Riley Partin both made the second team, while Boerne Champion freshman Hannah Perez and Boerne Champion senior Abigail Brehmer landed on the second team as well.

Boerne Champion freshman Anna Hurst and Boerne Champion senior Lilly Ritchie were named honorable mention, and for the Lady Greyhounds, junior Lizzy Thornton, sophomore Brooklynn Thomason and junior Tessa Murphy were also picked for the HM team.

The 2025 season marked the first time that the two Boerne ISD softball programs had ever played against each other and were in the same district after Boerne moved up to the 5A classification.

BHS claimed bragging rights over Champion in 2025 after they won both district games by scores of 9-5 and 8-0.

Neither team was able to make the playoffs in the rugged 26-5A district. Champion finished league play at 6- 10 ( 8- 11 overall), while Boerne High was 5-11 in district (10-10 overall).

Smithson Valley, New Braunfels, Veterans Memorial and Kerrville Tivy were the playoff teams from 26-5A, and Smithson Valley made it all the way to the state semifinals before they were eliminated to earn bronze medals this year.
