McClain hired as new Greyhound offensive coordinator

Andy McClain has been hired as the new offensive coordinator for the Boerne High football team. McClain spent the last football season as a volunteer assistant coach at UTSA and before that coached at various schools in the northern Austin area, including Hutto, Vandegrift, Leander Glenn and Georgetown Eastview. Besides calling plays, McClain will work with the quarterbacks and also serve as an assistant track coach in spring.

Also joining the Greyhound coaching staff will be Matt Counts, who will serve as the defensive backs coach. Counts coached at Midland Christian for the last seven years.

BHS head football coach Brett Sawyer said there is still one more opening on the staff he hopes to fill sooner than later after longtime assistant Richard Braud announced he has taken a job at Marion High School.

Braud’s replacement will work with the tight ends.
