Dozens of supporters of the second annual Das Festival of Kendall turned out for the event’s official ribbon-cutting recently with the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce along Main Street. Das Festival President Dave Parent and Parade Director Michael Ethridge joined the Chamber’s Kim Blohm in cutting the ribbon near Main Plaza, as Das Festival comes into town this year for its second run June 14 and 15. Das Festival of Kendall is a nonprofit organization founded with the mission of supporting various charitable organizations in Kendall County, performing civic projects for the benefit of Kendall County residents in need and supporting various other worthy causes throughout the county. They host a variety of fundraising events, including a Father’s Day Weekend festival aimed at keeping the German heritage of Boerne alive. The fun German-themed festival is filled with beer steins, live music, watermelon-eating contests, egg tossing, wheelbarrow racing, dachshund races, food trucks, family fun and much more. Want to be a part of Das Festival? Volunteers are still being sought; visit Das Festival of Kendall’s website or social media for more details on how to get involved: https://dasfestival.org/
