Team
Boerne Champion’s Charlie Houck was recently named to the Texas High School Coaches Association 5A Super Elite Boys Track and Field Team for the 2024-25 school year. He was only one of 17 male 5A runners from around the state to receive the award.
Houck earned a silver medal at last spring’s 5A state meet in the 3200 and also competed in the 1600 at state.
Each UIL classification from 1A to 6A has a Super Elite Boys and Girls Team that is selected by the Super Elite Teams (SET) committees. In order to be considered, an athlete must be a student of good moral character, on the varsity, been a member of the team in good standing at the time of nomination, excelled as an elite member in their respective sport and their coach must be a THSCA member.
Houck was also named to the THSCA Cross Country Super Elite Team last fall after he finished fourth at the 5A state cross country race.
Houck graduated in May and will continue his running career at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
