At a recent Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) conference, TAPPSCON25, representatives from Geneva School of Boerne picked up the trophy the school earned after winning the Henderson Cup for the 2024-25 school year.
The Henderson Cup is awarded by TAPPS to one school in each of the six classifications that scores the most points during the year in competitive academic, athletic and fine arts events sponsored by TAPPS.
Geneva has won the Henderson Cup four times as a TAPPS 4A school (2017-18, 2018-19, 2022-23, 202425), twice as a TAPPS 3A school (2014-15, 2015-16), twice as a 2A school (2012-13, 2013-14) and three times as a 1A school (2009-10, 201011, 2011-12).
The school first introduced varsity competition to its students in the 2008-09 school year. The first graduating senior class was in 2011 with 19 students.
To win this year’s Henderson Cup, Geneva tallied 85.08 points, beating the second-place team – Covenant Christian Colleyville – by more than 25 points after the Colleyville school scored 60.5 points.
The Eagles netted 49.08 points in athletics after the boys program earned 18.75 points and the girls tallied 30.33 points. Geneva also picked up 36 points in fine arts.
As far as athletics on the girls side, the 30.33 points is tops in 4A in the state (see separate article). The girls earned points in volleyball (8), basketball (8), soccer (6), golf (4), softball (4) and girls tennis (0.33).
On the boys side, basketball (6), golf (6), baseball (2), football (2), soccer (2) and tennis (0.75) picked up the 18.75 points.
As far as Geneva’s fine arts program, orchestra (10), vocal (8), academics (6), art (6) and band (6) accounted for their 36 points.
