JULY 12: Digital Painting, with Susan Reich.
JULY 15 & JULY 22: Stained Glass Sun-catcher, Part 1. In this two-part class, explore the artisan technique of cutting glass colored with metallic salts to create an original stained-glass work of art. Day one, you will choose and cut your design. Day two, apply copper foil, solder and finish to make an ornamental design. Attach a hanger to your own piece of art and display in your window for a nod to Notre Dame Cathedral’s historic Rose window.
JULY 26: Abstract Expressionism, with Pauly Tamez.
JULY 29: Shibori with Indigo dye. Join us in producing the ancient Japanese art of Shibori resist dyeing. You will explore Nui and Itajime, and Arashi techniques. The ancient art is complimented by the intriguing use of Indigo to dye natural fiber cloth. Practice the art of dyeing using folds, twists, and forms to produce amazing patterns.
