• ANNUAL FLAG RUN 5K: Join the sixth annual 4th of July running event. One mile walk begins at 8 a.m., for $35; the 5K starts at 8:05 a.m., entry fee of $45. Proceeds from this year’s run will go toward equipment for Boerne F.D., and a scholarship for a Boerne senior. Register at: runsignup.com.
• COMFORT FOURTH PARADE: The town’s annual Fourth of July event gets underway with a 9:30 a.m. bicycle parade, followed by the (approx.) 10 a.m. start of the Comfort 4th of July parade; viewing starts at High Street and Lindner Avenue. Following the parade is Picnic In The Park in Comfort Community Park, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with arts and crafts, vendors, a water slide, games for the kids, and music by The Drugstore Cowboys.
• FAIR OAKS RANCH Fourth of July Firework and Laser Show at the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club, 7900 Fair Oaks Parkway. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.; bring blankets and lawn chairs to take in the fireworks and laser show. Food vendors, a DJ and adult beverages on sale. No outside food or beverage allowed. • INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS at Boerne City Park. The annual fireworks show is set to begin at 9 p.m. and is scheduled to last 20-25 minutes. The show is free and open to the public, with prime viewing available at the Kendall County Fairgrounds and Champion High School.

• MUSIC IN THE CAVE: Join an evening with Ginny Mac in the Cave Without a Name, 325 Kreutzberg Road., from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 bought in advance, $45 at the door. Tickets available at cavewithoutaname. com.
• BLACK RIFLE PARTY: Join the team at Black Rifle Coffee Company and their neighbors for an old-fashioned block party from 5-9 p.m. Enjoy live music, great food and drink, as well as a cool car show.

• FAMILY TIE-DYE Days hosted by Boerne Parks and Rec July 8-10: morning session runs 9-11:30 a.m., and evenings goes, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Parks and Rec office, 1017 Adler Road. Bring your OWN shirt and $5, and leave with a wearable tie-dye masterpiece. Wear grubby clothes, because the dye will stain the clothes you have ON, as well as the shirt you’re designing. • BOERNE POWER WHEELS Drag Race in the parking lot at Boerne City Hall, 447 N. Main St., for ages 3-4, and 5-6. $15 gets a racer entered; sign-in starts at 8 a.m. and races begin at 9 a.m. Enter your racer and their wheels in the stock or modified divisions.
