JULY 9

• SUMMER READ ALOUD at The Boerne Bookshop, 153 S. Main St., beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Boerne Bookshop invites young readers and their families to enjoy a magical season of classic tales and enchanting adventures.

JULY 10

• BOERNE AREA DEMOCRATS monthly meeting at 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen, 110 Market Ave., beginning at 11:30 a.m., with Joe Jaworski, former mayor of Galveston, as guest speaker. Details: boerne-area-democrats.com.

JULY 11

• THE MOUNTAIN KING will take the Boerne Community Theatre stage with an 8 p.m. show. This begins a two-weekend run, with nightly performances and Sunday 2:30 p.m. matinees. Tickets, $20-$25, can be purchased at: boernetheatre.org or by calling 830-249-9166.

• DEVINO WINE 101: The first class in this series, covering the five-step approach to tasting wine. Tickets are $20, or $48 for all three classes. Tickets are available at: www.eventbrite.com.

• ICE CREAM SOCIAL from 5-7 p.m. on Boerne Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. Hang out and meet the members of the sponsoring Boerne Parks and Recreation crew. Enjoy music, games and free ice cream.

• FREE FAMILY SWIM night beginning at 6 p.m. at the municipal pool, 106 City Park Road. Spend an admission-free night of fun including special games and activities. Details: Parks and Rec, 830-248-1635.

• GOAT YOGA at Herff Farm from 9-10 a.m. — Already Sold Out — Fantastic Yin Yoga joint pain and fibromyalgia healing experience, coupled with baby goats. Bring your own yoga mat, towel and water bottle.

• BOERNE MARKET DAYS on Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and again 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Dozens of artists, craftsmen and vendors share their creative talents and wares to the background music of some of Texas’ best homegrown musicians. Details: 210-844-8193.

• STORYTIME WITH MS. Constance at the Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. The storytime will begin at 10:30 a.m. This story time theme will be ‘Fish’.

• MOONDANCE OUTDOOR CONCERT at Cibolo Nature Center from 6:45-9 p.m. featuring music by David Ramirez. Local vendors on site to help continue the Moondance tradition. Tickets are $15/person.

• AUTHOR ALLEY by the Boerne Bookshop from 1-5 p.m. in the alley that leads to The Boerne Bookshop from Main Street. Local authors will set up to promote their books each month. Contact 830-249-0000.

• BLUEGRASS JAM: Bring your instrument and play along or just come to listen to the Bluegrass jams from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while exploring the exhibits and grounds of The AgriCultural, 102 City Park Road. The event is free to the public.

• KUHLMANN-KING TOURS run noon to 3 p.m. at 402 E. Blanco Road. Step back in time to experience and explore how a Boerne family would have lived in the late 1800s. Tours are free, but donations are always welcome.

• POWER WHEELS RACING: Boerne Power Wheels Race in the City Hall parking lot, 447 N. Main St. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., racing begins at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $15 in two age groups, 3-4, and 5-6, in two classifications (stock and modified). • LOTERIA! HOSTED AT the Comfort Golden Age Center, 628 Front St., beginning at 1 p.m. Monica Zuniga with Crest Palliative Care will be there to sponsor and call the game.

• BOERNE VILLAGE BAND, Abendkonzerte, will perform 7:30-9 p.m. at Boerne Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. Enjoy traditional German music and stories of Boerne’s historic past. Bring blankets or chairs for seating. Contact: Ken, 210-415-7581.

• ‘MURDER AT THE Wine Bar’ is a murder mystery fundraiser at 7:30 p.m. at DeVino Cellars, 1109 S. Main St. A night of immersive suspense and laughter in this “Whodunit” where everyone in attendance is a suspect. $30 per ticket; funds raised go to support the Boerne Community Theatre.
