Several members of the Hill Country Comets track and field team, based in Boerne and Wimberley, recently competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals held June 19-22 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
None of the Comets were able to medal, but they still turned in strong performances. The following athletes from the Hill Country Comets attended the meet in Oregon:
• Juan Nava raced in the 100 dash in the freshman division.
• Ronnie Brooks competed in the 100 dash in the freshman division.
• Callie Harris competed in the shot put in the middle school division.
• Jamarri Bowie ran in the 400 dash in the championship division.
• Charleigh Jacobs competed in the pole vault in the emerging elite division.
• Molly Gowan competed in the high jump in the emerging elite division.
• Campbell Garbarino ran in the 300 hurdles in the championship division.
• Brice Roesler threw the shot put and the discus in the emerging elite division.
• Skyler Fonseca raced in the 1600 in the freshman division.
