Suspect in custody following Fair Oaks homicide

FAIR OAKS RANCH — One person is dead and another is in custody Saturday following what Fair Oaks Ranch police are calling an alleged homicide.

Fair Oaks Ranch police responded to a report at about 9:30 a.m Saturday on Duberry Ridge. The suspect arrived at the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department Headquarters, where he was immediately taken into custody without incident.

Authorities have not released the name of the suspect or the victim.

Officers secured the scene and contacted the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office to conduct crime scene investigation and processing. 

A joint investigation is now underway between the Fair Oaks Ranch PD and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Prreliminary reports suggest the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute confined to the residence. Fair Oaks Ranch PD confirms there is no ongoing risk to the public.

The suspect has been transported to Bexar County for holding and further investigation.

City Manager Scott Huizenga stated, “I commend our officers for their quick response both within the department and at the scene. I also want to thank Bexar County for its ongoing partnership to keep the community safe.”
Mayor Greg Maxton added, “Fair Oaks Ranch is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in Texas. While events like these are tragic, they are also rare.

"The immediate response from our team of dedicated officers and the support of our residents ensures such tragedies, when they do occur, are contained. There is no further danger to our residents," the mayor added.
