Recent Geneva School of Boerne graduate Jace Hulett tied for second place at the 99th Texas Junior Amateur tournament in the boys 15-18 division.
Hulett tied for second with two others after they all finished with a three-day score of 209 on the course at Horseshoe Bay. Tyler Neidel of Lakeway won the event by two strokes after he tallied a 207.
The Geneva graduate was leading Neidel by two strokes at the end of the second day after Hulett shot a 68 to go with his first-day score of 69 for a 137, while Neidel was in at 139 (72,67).
Jaxon Henegar of Dallas was in third at 140 (70,70) after the second day, while Lucas Latimer was fourth at 142 (68,74).
Neidel finished the tourney with a 68 on Day 3 for a 207 to win it, while Latimer, Henegar and Hulett all tied for second at 209.
Latimer shot a 67 on the final day, Henegar carded a 69 and Hulett came in at 72 to close it out.
Hulett, a two-time TAPPS state champion at Geneva, will continue his golfing career at Seton Hall University in the fall Also, Brackston Pitts of Boerne was entered in the event and shot a 78 and 76 for a 154 but missed the cut and didn’t play in the final round. The cut came at 150.
