COMFORT — A select group of Hill Country artists will demonstrate, display and sell their works representing a variety of media — from oil paintings and photography to glasswork — at the 2025 Comfort Art Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Artists will greet shoppers and have displays inside and in front of Comfort restaurants, boutiques and specialty and antique shops throughout the downtown historic district.

The Art Fest opens at 10 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m. A list of artists and a map of their locations will be available at participating merchants.

Established in 2009 as the Comfort Fall Art Walk, the event quickly became a Hill Country tradition “Each year our artists bring their one-of-a-kind pieces to the streets of Comfort,” said Julie Kuykendall, event organizer. “These unique pieces complement the antiques that shoppers seek when they come to Comfort, and our event provides a way for merchants and shoppers alike to support these area artists.”

The Comfort Art Festival provides a great day of shopping in the Texas Hill Country as fall temperatures arrive. Comfort shops are an easy walk from each other with restaurants and wine tasting rooms nearby.

A partial list of participating artists includes: Jona Carpenter, gourd art; Susan Chase, painting; Daneshu Clarke, oil painting; Tina Couet, stained glass; Susan Die, fused glass; Araceli Falcon, photography; Millard Kuykendall, oil/acrylic painting; Robin Mahan, painting; Mike Martin, painting/print making; Betty Moreland, oil painting; Deborah Myers, photography; Maren Phillips, oil/watercolor painting; Sam Sanchez, painting; and Peggy Vesper, painting.

The artist line-up is subject to change.
