Eagles, Deer win season openers

The Comfort High and Geneva School of Boerne volleyball teams were in San Antonio Tuesday night to open the 2025 season.

It was a good night for both squads after they went on to pick up victories to start the year at 1-0.

The Eagles and Deer are both entered in tournaments this weekend.

Comfort High

Comfort High opened the 2025 volleyball season Tuesday on the road by visiting Highlands.

The Deer dropped the first set 25-22, but managed to win three straight to get the victory. CHS claimed the last three sets, 27-25, 25-19, 25-15 to start 1-0.

Comfort was originally scheduled to play at Marble Falls Monday but that match was cancelled and instead they tangled with Highlands on Tuesday.

The Deer are entered in the Hondo Tournament this weekend and then welcome Center Point and Bandera in a tri-match on Tuesday for their home opener.

Geneva School of Boerne

The Eagles were also in San Antonio on Tuesday and played Providence to start 2025.

Geneva improved its margin of victory as the match progressed against the Provettes and won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-18, 25-15, to start at 1-0.

The Eagles are scheduled to play in the Wimberley tournament this weekend and will host Johnson City Tuesday in its home opener.
