Charger runners compete at SCUC Invitational

CIBOLO – Boerne Champion competed at the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City (SCUC) Invitational to open the 2025 season last week at Steele High School.

The Chargers were scheduled to run this weekend at the Westlake Meet, along with Boerne High.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Chargers placed third with 90 points behind Churchill (46) and Round Rock (80) in the field of 18 teams.

Rebecca Bezerra led the short-handed team after she came in sixth with a 20:14.20, Emma Radtke placed 12th with a 20:35.90, Addison Graham came in 18th after posting a 21:17.40, Elena Duran finished in 21:34.21 for 22nd, while Abigail Alger clocked in at 22:13.30 for 32nd, Payton Kidder completed the course in 22:24.60 for 35th and Catherine Whitman ran the race in 22:55.80 for 41st.

Varsity Boys

The Champion boys tallied 116 points for fourth place. Clemens (39) won the event, Round Rock (44) took second and Sotomayor (94) was third in the field of 14 teams.

Shawn Edwards led the boys after he placed 12th with a time of 16:57.18, Mason Nelson posted a 17:24.91 for 22nd, Sebastian Carvallo came in 24th with a time of 17:26.40, Noah Moreno was a few spots back in 27th after clocking in at 17:38.39, Abhiram Bhogireddy came in 31st with a time of 17:53.51, Adan Valdez finished in 18:06.48 for 36th and Brandon Martinez completed the course in 18:25.17 for 41st, while Pierce Mitchell ran and turned in an 18:43.45.
