The Comfort High volleyball team had a busy week and played 11 matches last week.

First, the Deer hosted Center Point and Bandera on Tuesday and then played in the Floresville tournament last weekend where they played nine matches.

Comfort is 13-5 overall and visited Hondo Tuesday. The Deer are entered in the Johnson City tourney this weekend.

Comfort played nine matches, three each day of the tournament and posted a 5-4 mark.

On the first day of the tourney last Thursday, the Deer lost to Goliad, 25-8, 25-8, fell to Medina Valley, 25-16, 25-17 and were beaten by East Central, 25-20, 25-18.

After losing three on Thursday, the Deer bounced back to win all three matches Friday. Comfort knocked off YWLA, 26-24, 25-20, topped Bandera after dropping the first set, 13-25, 25-18, 15-13, and then closed out the day with a win over Northeast Early College, 25-4, 25-11.

Comfort returned on Saturday and played three more matches. The Deer won two of the three and swept Lytle, 25-20, 25-12, took care of Hallettsville in three, after dropping the first set, 19-25, 25-19, 15-13.

From there, the Deer close it out with a setback to Cuero, 25-12, 17-25, 15-13.

Vs. Center Point, Bandera

Comfort High defeated two teams in a tri-match at home last Tuesday.

CHS cruised past Center Point in four sets and then swept Bandera.

Against Center Point, Comfort almost pulled off a sweep, but the Lady Pirates forced a fourth game after winning Game 3.

The Deer took care of business in Game 4 and pulled out the win, 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20.

Comfort did manage to record the sweep over the overmatched Bandera.

The Deer collared the Lady Bulldogs, 25-14, 25-23, 25-18.
