The Boerne ISD water polo teams kicked off district play last weekend at the Northside Aquatics Center.
Champion and Boerne High are back at Northside this weekend as they continue league action.
Boerne Champion
The Champion boys and girls teams opened district play against Brandeis and Marshall.
The boys beat Brandeis, 17-11, behind 7 goals from Will Harrison, while Aaron Mendoza finished with 4 assists and 6 steals.
Jackson Hankins and Knox Armstrong were both in goal for the Chargers and combined for 13 saves.
Against Marshall, the Champion boys earned a 5-0 forfeit win over the Rams, and it was the same in the girls match.
In their other match, the Lady Chargers defeated Brandeis, 6-4.
Bennett Rice cooked up 3 goals and Cora Skoog finished with 2 assists, while goalie Cayden Van Dyne came up with 11 saves and Ariana Swanson had 5 steals.
Both Charger squads are 2-0 in district, while the girls are 13-5 overall and the boys are 12-5 overall. They’ll play Clark and Health Careers Saturday.
Boerne High
The Greyhounds tangled with Health Careers and Marshall last weekend.
Marshall forfeited against the BHS boys, but the Lady Rams defeated the Lady Greyhounds, 16-14.
In their other match, the Boerne girls lost to Health Careers, 13-3, while the BHS boys fell to Health Careers as well, 11-2.
BHS plays Brandeis and Clark this weekend.
The BHS girls are 0-2 in district and 3-7 overall, while the boys are 1-1 in district and 2-8 overall.
