Greyhound, Charger tennis teams play district matches
Champion’s Christian Okey and the rest of the Chargers visited Alamo Heights Wednesday for a district match.

Both Boerne ISD tennis teams continued with district action this week after the Greyhounds hosted Smithson Valley Tuesday and the Chargers were at Alamo Heights on Wednesday.

It’s almost time for the two Boerne ISD teams to play. Champion hosts the Greyhounds Tuesday in a district match at the Charger courts.

Champion won last year’s contest, but BHS defeated them in the playoffs to split their series last year.

The Greyhounds hosted the Rangers on Tuesday and were up 4-3 after doubles and then won the first two singles matches off the court for the 6-3 lead and cruised from there to a 14-5 win after they played all 19 matches.

BHS is 8-1 overall and 4-0 in district.

The Chargers played at Alamo Heights Wednesday after they moved the match back a day because they didn’t want to play the day after a holiday and wanted to get in a day of practice before the match.

Alamo Heights won Wednesday’s match, 12-2, to drop the Chargers to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in district.

Chargers coach Joey Cantu said the Mules are good this year.
