BOERNE — The Geneva School of Boerne’s explosive offense serves up a home 69-26 win over Sabinal, advancing to 3-0.

The win came on the backs of upperclassmen, junior quarterback Caleb Quitadamo, senior receiver- safety Brady Chandler and senior running back Noah Brunsvold.

The first half started with a dangerous passing attack led by Quitadamo, who threw three touchdown passes, finding Chandler twice for a Geneva 20-13 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Eagles started to separate themselves as the running game became a factor. Quitadamo and Brunsvold punched it in two times each, creating a larger lead.

Though the offense was the main advantage for the Eagles, the defense played a huge role in the win as Chandler was the catalyst, snagging two interceptions and having decent returns, resulting in good field position for the offense.

Head Coach Bob Rosenstiel trusts Chandler’s “football IQ” and instincts to put himself in position to make plays.

“He’s like another coach on the field,” Rosenstiel said. “I trust him, he’s been in the system for three years.”

So far this season the Eagles are proving to be a high-powered offense, scoring 50-plus points in back-to-back wins.

Rosenstiel attributes the offensive momentum to talent and team chemistry.

‘We have some highpower weapons, our connection is finally coming into fruition,” the coach said.

Despite the early season’s success, Rosenstiel understands his team still has some improvements to make.

“We still missed on four or five big shots, so we still have ways to go,” he said.

The Eagles look to continue the win streak and thriving offense as they match up against Cypress Christian at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at home.
