Bobcats win shootout at Ingram, 47-35

The Comfort High football didn’t have a great start Friday when they visited Ingram, but the Bobcats sure finished strong to defeat the Warriors.

After falling behind 9-0 in the first quarter, Comfort righted the ship and went on to defeat Ingram, 47-35.

It was Ingram’s first home game this year since last summer’s devastating floods hit the area, while the Bobcats improved to 3-0.

A safety and Pick-6 interception put Comfort in a hole early, but they dug out of it quickly. Hunter Ledlow turned the tide of the game after he sprinted for a 90-yard touchdown to make it 9-7.

Ingram went up 22-7 by the middle of the second, but that’s when the comeback started for the Bobcats.

Four straight TDs by the Bobcats gave them the lead by the end of the third quarter. Damian Neri caught a 12-yard strike from Omar Rivera to close out the first half.

Jared Valadez returned the second-half kickoff 90 yards for a score, Ledlow plunged into the end zone for his second rushing touchdown of the night and then Gabe Gonzales picked up a fumble and ran it in for a score and the Bobcats were up 33-22.

The Cats never let off the gas pedal from there. Carter Pape added an 80-yard scramble for paydirt, and it was 40-22.

Ingram added a couple of late touchdowns, but the Bobcats kept pace as Ledlow tacked on his third rushing touchdown of the night for the final of 47-35.

It was a great night for Ledlow who ran for 184 yards on 11 carries and three touchdowns.

The Bobcats host Johnson City for Homecoming, Friday.
