The Geneva School of Boerne football team will put its perfect 3-0 record on the line Friday when the Eagles host Cypress Christian School.

One of the teams will suffer its first loss in 2025 because the Warriors are also 3-0.

Eagles coach Bob Rosenstiel said the Warriors are dangerous offensively. They’ve tallied 64 and 52 points in two games and are averaging 51 points per contest.

“They’re a well-coached team that plays well together,” he said. “They have a really good passing game and can run the ball just as well.”

Geneva’s 3-0 start is their best since 2017 and Eagles head coach Bob Rosenstiel said they’ve worked on their mental approach and it’s paying off.

“I’d have to say our mentality this year has shifted to the stronger side,” he said. “We have guys fighting to stay in the game.”

That mentality has produced some crazy numbers offensively. Geneva QB Caleb Quitadamo threw for 381 yards and 5 TDs and also ran for two touchdowns as the offense tallied 556 total yards last Friday and didn’t have a turnover.

Brady Chandler caught 10 passes for 189 yards and 4 touchdowns. Chandler also came up with two interceptions while playing defense. The Eagles defense finished with three turnovers in the game.

As good as they’re playing, Rosenstiel said they must continue to improve, especially in one particular area.

“We have to get better on our coverage teams – kickoffs and punts,” the coach said. “We had a few big returns on us last week.”

The Eagles did give up 111 yards on kickoff returns last week in their 69-26 victory over Sabinal, but they did kickoff nine times because they kept scoring so much.

Also, the Eagles had nine penalties for 98 yards but despite the return yardage and penalties, Rosenstiel said they’re heading in the right direction.

“We need to clean up some assignment issues but I’m happy where we’re at right now,” he said.
