SAN ANTONIO – After the Boerne ISD schools clashed in tennis and volleyball last week, it was time for the district water polo teams to meet to close out the week.
Boerne High and Boerne Champion tangled in the first round of district play last Saturday at the Northside Aquatics Center and the Chargers were able to sweep the Greyhounds.
Both the Chargers and Greyhounds are off this weekend, but resume play next Saturday, Sept. 27.
In last Saturday’s match on the boys side, Champion defeated Boerne High, 22-6, in the last match of the day at NS.
Champion was up 11-0 in the first quarter and built a 17-0 lead before the Greyhounds scratched for a goal.
The Charger boys are 16-5 overall and still perfect in district at 6-0, while Boerne slips to 1-5 in district and 2-13 overall.
On the girls side, the Lady Chargers beat the Lady Hounds, 17-4, and were up 7-1 in the first quarter.
Champion is 17-5 overall and 6-0 in district, while the Boerne girls are 0-6 in district and 2-13 overall.
