Greyhounds race at Lovejoy XC Fall Festival

After a week off, the Boerne High cross-country teams made the long drive to the Dallas area to take part in the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival last Saturday.

The BHS boys competed in the Varsity Elite race and the Lady Hounds were in the Varsity Girls race and both placed in the top 10.

Boerne is at the McNeil Invitational this Saturday, site of the UIL state meet in November.

Varsity Boys

The BHS boys placed 6th in the Varsity Boys Elite race with 205 points and had two in the top 20 in the field of 194 runners and 26 complete teams.

Barrett Crofut and Aaron Garcia went 15-16 for the Hounds after Crofut ran a 16:07 to place 15th and Garcia posted a 16:10 for 16th.

Brayden Scott finished 26th in a time of 16:24, Carsten Bain clocked in at 17:04 for 56th and Wiley Davis ran a 17:36 for 92nd to round out Boerne’s scoring 5.

Chase MacHicek clocked in at 17:59 for 111th, Jacen Esparza completed the course in 18:25 for 130th and Julian Wasel ran the race in 18:36.

Canyon (125) won the race, Prosper (142) took 2nd and McKinney North (152) came in 3rd.

Varsity Girls

Boerne only raced five in the girls varsity race where they combined for a score of 232 for 10th in the field of 19 complete teams and 193 runners.

Sophia King led the Lady Hounds after she placed 34th in a time of 21:42, Kelsey Farar came in 38th in 21:46, Ansley Schiller posted a 21:48 for 42nd, Abigail Jendrusch finished the race in 22:18 for 55th and Ainsley Purcell ran a 22:43 for 63rd.

The Woodlands (57) won the race after their top 3 went 3-4-5, host Lucas Lovejoy (65) placed 2nd and Frisco Wakeland (121) finished 3rd in the final team standings.
