Boerne Champion ran at the 2025 Hays CISD XC Invitational held at the Five Mile Dam Soccer Complex in San Marcos last Friday.
It was a strong showing by the Chargers after both varsity squads placed in the top four in their respective races.
Champion is scheduled to run at the McNeil Invitational in Round Rock this week at Old Settlers Park, home of the state meet in November.
Varsity Girls
The Champion girls finished 3rd with 142 points in the field of 25 teams and 198 runners.
Rebecca Bezerra posted a top 10 finish for the Chargers after she was ninth with a time of 18:34, Emma Radtke clocked in at 19:06 for 22nd, Addison Graham came in 33rd with a 19:38, Luciana Zazueta Ibarra was two seconds back in 19:40 for 36th, Elena Duran completed the course in 19:50 for 42nd to round out the scoring five.
Anorah Cerean finished in 21:17 for 111th and Catherine Whitman was 115th in 21:33.
Only district foe Smithson Valley (67) and S.A. Johnson (87) were ahead of the Chargers in the team standings.
Varsity Boys
The Champion boys placed 4th with 147 points and had two finish in the top 20 in the field of 28 teams and 206 runners.
Shawn Edwards clocked in at 16:02 for 12th and Mason Nelson came in 20th with a 16:21 as Champion’s top 5 all posted times below 17:00.
Noah Moreno ran a 16:35 for 30th, Brandon Martinez recorded a 16:43 for 37th and Adan Valdez completed the course in 16:53 for 48th.
Abhiram Bhogireddy finished in 17:06 for 60th and Pierce Mitchell turned in a 17:43 for 89th.
Lake Travis (62), McAllen (108) and S.A. Johnson (115) rounded out the top three teams.
