Geneva sweeps TMI in non-district match
The Comfort High volleyball team opened district play Saturday on the road at Florence and was able to stampede past the Lady Buffs in three sets.
Comfort defeated Florence, 25-12, 26-24, 25-11. The Deer are 20-11 overall and start league play at 1-0. Comfort is home for its next three district matches. They hosted Blanco Tuesday and then welcome Llano on Friday before the football game between Comfort and the Yellowjackets.
The Deer are off next Tuesday, Sept. 30, and then host Ingram on Oct. 3, for their third straight home match before hitting the road to play at Brady.
Geneva School of Boerne
The Geneva School of Boerne volleyball team made the short drive down IH-10 Friday night to face TMI Episcopal in a non-district match.
Geneva had too much firepower for the Lady Panthers and won in straight sets, 25- 20, 25-21, 25-17.
The Eagles are 28-10 overall and hosted Corpus Christi Incarnate Word Academy Tuesday to resume district play. Geneva was 1-2 in league action entering Tuesday’s match.
