While the Boerne Champion volleyball team took a game off district-leading New Braunfels last Friday night in Boerne, the Lady Unicorns were still able to defeat the Lady Chargers in four sets.
New Braunfels won the match, 25-19, 23-25, 25-9, 25-22, to remain perfect at 7-0. The Lady Chargers are 4-3 in 26-5A and have dropped three straight.
Champion (19-5 overall) opened the second round of district Tuesday at Wagner and hosts Kerrville Tivy Friday.
