Both Boerne Champion varsity cross country teams ran at the McNeil XC Invite last Saturday in Round Rock.
The Chargers competed in the Gold races, which is an open division at the meet and both did well.
Champion is scheduled to run in Kerrville this weekend before their district meet on Wednesday, Oct. 8, also in Kerrville.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Chargers finished sixth in the Gold race with 228 points and were second among the 5A teams.
Champion had two place in the top 20 after Rebecca Bezerra was 16th with a 19:12 and Emma Radtke came in 19th in 19:19.
Addison Graham posted a 19:46 for 42nd, Luciana Zazueta Ibarra finished in 19:55 for 58th, Payton Kidder clocked in at 20:36 for 93rd and Elena Duran was 101st in 20:43 for the Lady Chargers that only ran six girls in race that contained 199 runners.
Lucas Lovejoy (80) won the race, S.A. Johnson (147) took second and Lewisville Marcus (168) was third in the field of 23 complete teams.
Varsity Boys
The varsity boys competed in the Gold race and finished 18th overall in the field of 29 teams with 421 points. Amongst the 5A teams, the Chargers placed fourth.
For the Chargers, Shawn Edwards paced the team and was 59th with a 16:34, Mason Nelson came in 73rd in 16:46, Brandon Martinez recorded a 16:54 for 84th and Noah Moreno also ran a sub-17:00 after he turned in a 16:59 for 91st.
Adan Valdez clocked in at 17:15 for 114th, Pierce Mitchell finished in 17:54 for 163rd and Abhiram Bhogireddy rounded out the team with an 18:40 for 184th in a field of 233.
Round Rock (143) won the race, La Feria (184) took second and Clemens (205) was third in the field of 29 teams.
