Geneva School of Boerne hosted state-runner up Holy Cross on Friday in a key district contest in Boerne.

The Eagle hung tough with the Knights for a bit, but Holy Cross went on to post a 46-14 victory.

It was tied at 14-14 at one point, but the Knights came up with five interceptions and took advantage of short fields to get their scores and tallied the final 32 points of the game.

On Geneva's two scoring drives, the Eagles had to march 93 yards on each possession before finding the end zone.

The Eagles drop to 1-1 in district and are 4-2 overall. Geneva has a short week and plays New Braunfels Christian Thursday in Boerne.

Bandera 28, Comfort 20

Comfort closed out the non-district portion of its schedule with a trip to Bandera.

It was a see-saw game that the Bulldogs won. There were five ties or lead changes before Bandera claimed the 28-20 victory.

Comfort drops to 4-2 and is off this coming Friday. The Bobcats open the regular season Oct. 17 at Rogers.

Boerne ISD teams

Both the Chargers and Greyhounds were off Friday and resume district play on Oct. 10.

Boerne High visits Harlandale and Champion hosts New Braunfels.
