Champion faces Boerne High in tennis and volleyball, Charger water polo teams advance to regional tourney.

Tuesday turned into a case where Boerne High faced Boerne Champion in two different sports and the two BISD schools split, while the water polo teams from Champion advance in the playoffs.

Team Tennis

The Chargers and Greyhounds met in the third round of the 5A tennis playoffs at Northside and the Greyhounds won 10-7 for their third straight win against the Chargers. The Hounds advance to the regional tourney being held Thursday and Friday at Blossom.

Volleyball

BHS hosted Champion in 26-5A volleyball action and the Chargers won Tuesday's contest at Greyhound Gym in five tough sets.

The teams have split their season series as they start to wind down the regular season.

Champion has clinched a playoff spot this year, while the Lady Greyhounds didn't qualify this season.

Water polo

Both Champion water polo teams won their third-round playoff matches Thursday in S.A. and will play in the regional tourney at Southwest ISD starting Friday.
