GOP candidates' petition signing party Thursday at Tusculum

BOERNE — More than a dozen Republican candidates for office will gather Thursday for a petition-signing party, where attendees can become more familiar with candidates seeking election in 2026.

Jennifer Barreras-Rawls, Kendall County Republican Party chair, outlined the candidates expected to attend the event, set for 6-8 p.m. at Tusculum Brewing Co., 236 S. Main St.

Candidates invited to bring their petitions for office and accept signatures at the meeting include Congressional Dist. 21 candidates Daniel Betts, Jason Cahill, Weston Martinez, Paul Rojas, Mark Teixeira, Heather Tessmer, Trey Trainor and Mike Wheeler.

Local officeholders to attend include incumbents Kirsten Cohoon, 451st District Court judge; Katherine McDaniel, 498th District Court judge; Andra Wisian, Kendall County Court Precinct 2 commissioner; and Chad Carpenter, Kendall County Court Precinct 4 commissioner.

Two incumbent Kendall County Justices of the Peace have opponents in the primary: Precinct 2 Justice David Neighbor is being opposed by Vince Robisheaux; and Precinct 3 Justice Debby Hudson faces a challenge from Jon Tipton.

Precinct 1 Justice Michele Van Stavern and Precinct 4 Justice Freida Pressler are currently unopposed in the March 3 primary.
