Black Rifle Coffee Co.’s Patti Mainz is one of seven honorees recognized for their impact in the community during the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce annual gala Saturday.

In spite of winter-weather challenges, the awards ceremony played to a packed house in the Cana Ballroom Jan. 24.

The event, which traditionally sells out, brings Chamber members and supporters together to pay tribute to “the best of” in seven categories.

Mainz, whose company is in its sixth year anchoring a major corner of downtown Boerne, was named Businesswoman of the Year.

An advocate for veterans, Mainz has also served as a speaker at Veterans Day ceremonies, taken part in International Women’s Day events, sits on the city’s Historic Landmark Commission and is a Das Festival of Kendall board member, according to the Chamber.

Other awardees are:

• Jeremy Affeldt, Businessman of the Year

• Singing Waters Vineyards, Small Business of the Year (under 50 employees)

• SEnergy, Large Business of the Year (over 50 employees)

• The Boerne Life, New Business of the Year

• Boerne Blaze Special Olympics, Nonprofit of the Year

• Kevin Rosenberger, eXp Realty, Ambassador of the Year

According to a release from the Chamber, the organization follows strict guidelines to ensure neutrality from staff, elected officials and the board during selections.

“Just as in years past, each nomination is submitted by you, our Chamber members,” a Chamber official noted in a release. “The Chamber staff is not allowed to nominate.”

The nominations opened in November with members submitting selections anonymously.

In early January, a Selection Committee formed of 2025 winners began the process of picking the new awardees.
