BOERNE — Entrepreneur, publisher and Boerne Independent School District graduate Michael Ethridge has announced his candidacy for Place 7 on the Boerne ISD board of trustees.
A product of the district, Ethridge — who will face incumbent Place 7 Trustee Rich Sena — says his decision to run follows years of direct involvement with Boerne ISD students and career- foc used programs. “ Boerne ISD helped shape the direction of my life,” Ethridge said. “The teachers and mentors in this district invested in me. Serving on the school board is an opportunity to give back in a meaningful way and help ensure our schools continue moving forward with strong standards and responsible stewardship.”
If elected, Ethridge has outlined two core commitments: to never vote to raise already high property taxes; and committing to no more than two terms.
“Families and landowners in this district already carry a significant tax burden,” he said. “The district must operate with increased financial discipline and transparency.”
“School board service should be stewardship, not a career,” he said. “Healthy institutions benefit from accountability and fresh perspective.”
Ethridge is publisher of The Kendall Gentleman, a Kendall County publication highlighting business leaders, veterans, craftsmen and community stories. Ethridge can be reached at: www. michael4bisd.com.
