Chandler sets school record at HC meet, also competes at Bluebonnet Invite
The Geneva School of Boerne track and field teams competed at the Knights Westside Relays last week in S.A., hosted by Holy Cross.
Geneva placed fifth in the boys varsity standings with 70 points and the Lady Eagles were sixth with 51 points.
Also, prior to that, Brady Chandler competed at the Bluebonnet Invitational held in College Station.
Knights Westside Relays Varsity Boys (top 8) Brady Chandler ran 11.01 in the 100 for second place and broke the school record he set last year (11.07) in the event, while Shae McNew was 6th in 11.73.
Chandler placed 4th in the 200 at 23.68 and Samuel Crews was 8th in the 1600 at 5:35.
In field events, McNew was 4th in the shot put with a throw of 39-3, Mikhail Boespflug was 5th at 38-8 and Tripp Martin placed 8th in 37-11.25.
Boespflug won the discus with a toss of 138-1, Martin was 3rd at 128-0 and McNew came in 8th at 109-7.5, while Walter Teague placed 3rd in the high jump after clearing 5-6.
Chandler won the pole vault and set a venue record by clearing 15-0, while Chandler also won the long jump with a leap of 21-0.
Varsity Girls
Madilyn Detterick finished 6th in the 400 in 1:09.18, Peyton Eiland was 4th in the 1600 in 6:13 and Eiland came in 2nd in the 3200 with a 13:16, while Ruby Svendsen came in 2nd in the 100 hurdles in 18.04.
Gracyn Miller finished 3rd in the shot put with a 30-5.5 and Carolyn Lutz was 6th at 27-0, while Miller came in 4th in the discus with a throw of 82-10.

Brady Chandler competed at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational and placed third in the pole vault after clearing 15-7.
Svendsen placed 2nd in the high jump by clearing 4-10, Maebry Caulfield finished 8th in the long jump at 14-3.5 and also placed 5th in the triple jump with a 31-10.5.
Bluebonnet Invitational Geneva’s Brady Chandler competed in the pole vault at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational held in College Station, March 6-7.
Chandler finished third at the event and set a new Geneva record and after he cleared 15-7 in the pole vault. Chandler’s vault is fifth best in Texas this year and ninth best in the country in outdoor competition so far.
