Editor, Care to thank a Veteran? As a veteran, I often hear, “Thank you for your service.” Though appreciated, often times the sentiment falls flat.
For me, such appreciation is better demonstrated by one’s acts. With voting for Kendall County Judge and other offices just around the corner, exercising our right to vote as defended by generations of veterans is a much more meaningful expression.
But not just voting for the sake of voting; rather, taking the time to be a well-informed voter.
And with such issues as water scarcity and unchecked development at the fore, responsible voting is as important as ever.
To that end, at least for the county judge’s race, a candidate debate is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 13 at the Patrick Heath Public Library.
Early voting for Kendall County Judge starts May 18 and ends May 26. Hope to see you at the polls.
