The postseason honors keep pouring in for Boerne High graduate Jackson Grimes.

Not only was Grimes named the 26-5A Pitcher of the Year, but the UTSA signee has also been selected as a 5A All-State Elite player by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.

According to the THSBCA website, “All-State Elite teams are composed of all the players who will be playing in the All-Star Game. Any player selected for the All-Star Gane is automatically an All-State player.”

The 5A-6A All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock at 11 a.m. The 1A-4A All-Star Game is set for Saturday, June 13 at noon.

Grimes had quite a senior season in 2026 and went 6-1 in 52.1 innings pitched. The lefty struck out 92 batters and had an ERA of 1.6, while opponents batted .114 against him.

There are only 24 players from around the state named 5A All-State Elite and only five of those are pitchers.

Grimes helped lead the Greyhounds to a playoff spot in 2026 and played in the outfield when he wasn’t pitching. He batted in the clean-up spot and hit two home runs, two triples, three doubles and drove in 21 runs.
