The Geneva School of Boerne softball team had several players earn postseason awards after the 2026 season.
Junior Carlyle Harden and senior Reese Smith were named first-team all-district in District 4-DIII, while three freshmen – Lila Fleming, Carolyn Lutz and Gracyn Miller – were named to the second team and junior Sydney Schaefer landed on the honorable mention squad.
Harden and Smith were named DIII honorable mention all-state players, while Harden and Smith were recognized as Academic All-State.
Geneva closed out the year at 4-6 in district and went 6-7 overall under first-year coach Trey Smith. They were fourth in the district where the top three teams advanced to the postseason.
Despite missing the postseason, Smith said it was a solid year for his young team.
“Though we didn’t get into the playoffs, it was a great season,” he said. “We grew closer as a team and made huge improvements as the season went along.”
Smith added that he’s excited about the 2027 season.
“The future is bright for Geneva softball and I’m blessed to be a part of it,” he said. “Big things are coming as we will return everyone next year with the exception of our senior leader Reese Smith. She left an incredible mark on the program.”
