Johnson, Galloway selected in MLB draft

Boerne High graduates Camden Johnson and Rashawn Galloway were selected in last weekend’s Major League Baseball draft.

Johnson, a 2023 BHS grad, went to the Kansas City Royals in the ninth round with the 269th pick, while Galloway, a 2022 BHS grad, was selected in Round 16 with the 481st pick by the Houston Astros.

Both Galloway and Johnson played for Bill Merrell while with the Greyhounds.

Galloway just wrapped up a fouryear career at Texas State, while Johnson just finished his junior season by winning a national championship with the University of Oklahoma.

This isn’t the first time that two BHS players have been selected in the same draft. In 2022, Douglas Hodo was taken in the sixth round by the Baltimore Orioles after three years at the University of Texas, while Cole Phillips was taken that same year by the Atlanta Braves in the second round.
