Tamez leads HCCA landscape painting sessions Sept. 11-13

CELEBRATING THE ARTS

Hill Country Council for the Arts has opened registration for “Hill Country Horizons: A 3-Day Start to Finish Landscape Intensive,” with Pauly Tamez from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 11-13, in The Classroom at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, Boerne.

Participants will complete a finished oil landscape painting while learning foundational techniques: composition, color mixing, brushwork, and finishing.

Pauly Tamez is an abstract expressionist and impressionistic landscape painter whose work is an exploration of color, form and emotion. Primarily working in oil paints, Tamez creates compositions that pulsate with energy and invites viewers into a world of boundless creativity.

Tamez’s watercolor studies serve as a foundation for larger oil paintings, allowing for a deep exploration of the Texas Hill Country landscape. This ultimately informs his abstract work through the intentional use of contrasting and complementary colors, as well as fluid, organic shapes.

Tamez aims to evoke a range of emotions and inspire others to embrace their own creative spirit. Deeply influenced by the mentorship of renowned Texas landscape painters Bill Zaner and David Caton, he continues to evolve his artistic practice while honoring the legacy of his mentors.

Tamez and his wife, Linda, and their two dogs live in the Hill Country west of Boerne.

For session details, call Paula, 210-269-8349, or refer to www.hccarts.org to register.

HCCArts is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit and recognized by Americans for the Arts as the Hill Country Business Committee for the Arts. The focus is to enhance community awareness, develop opportunities for involvement, encourage individual and corporate support, and to develop a long-range plan for promoting, and cross-pollinating the arts within the 19 counties of Texas Hill Country.
