Boerne Champion was perfect at the Pieper Warrior volleyball tournament last weekend.
The Lady Chargers ran the table and went 6-0 to capture first place at the event.
Champion bumps its record to 11-3 overall and was finally home Tuesday to host Clark. It was the first match on their home court this year after work was done to the gym floor this summer.
The Chargers play in the Seguin tournament this weekend.
At the Pieper tourney, Finley Weikle was named Tournament MVP, while Brielle Boothe and Hannah Perez were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Chargers swept the first five teams they faced and only dropped one set, and that wasn’t until their final match against Brennan.
Champion opened with a sweep of Laredo United, 25-18, 25-15. They defeated Harlingen South, 25-14, 25-20 and then closed out the first day with a two-set victory over Harlan, 25-16, 25-18.
On Saturday, the Chargers swept Medina Valley, 27-25, 25-16, defeated Pieper in the semifinals, 27-25, 25-17, and then beat Brennan for the championship after the Bears won the first set, 25-27.
Champion bounced back to beat the Bears, 25-23, 26-24.
