The Comfort High volleyball team was entered in the Floresville tournament last weekend and played eight matches.
Comfort went 4-4 in those matches and stands at 9-11 overall. The Deer were home Tuesday to host Hondo and will play in the Johnson City tournament this weekend and open against Fredericksburg.
At the Floresville tourney, the Deer were streaky and dropped their first two, won four straight and then lost their last two to go 4-4.
Comfort was swept by Schertz John Paul II, 25-15, 25-12, and then lost to Stockdale, 25-16, 25-21 before winning four straight.
The Deer beat Jourdanton in three sets, 15-25, 25-21, 25-17, clubbed Cole in three sets, swept George West and then defeated Randolph in straight sets, 25-23, 28-26.
In its last two matches, Victoria East swept Comfort, 25-17, 25-23, before the Deer closed it out with a 25-22, 25-22 setback to Eagle Pass.
