Boerne’s Cave Without a Name is hosting two of its most popular acts for the Music In The Cave concerts in September.
The Axiom String Quartet will play on Sunday, Sept. 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 19, Rudi & the Rudiments return to mark the Fall Equinox at 7 p.m.
These unique concerts are held in the Throne Room, taking advantage of the dynamic acoustics and natural backdrop found inside the cave. Seating is strictly limited and tickets must be reserved in advance online at www. cavewithoutaname.com or by calling 830.537.4212 during regular business hours to purchase tickets by phone.
The critically-acclaimed Axiom String Quartet will perform “Stories in Three,” a program that takes the audience from a Viennese ballroom to a romantic salon. The program will appeal to a range of tastes that includes fans of popular, classical and contemporary styles.
Tickets for Axiom are $40 in advance; and $45 after 5 p.m. on the day of the concert, if available.
Rudi & the Rudiments have been performing concerts in the cave since 2002. The genre-defying musicians play a variety of ancient and modern instruments.
They traditionally mark the change in seasons, as with the Autumnal Equinox, and part of the concert will be performed in total darkness with candlelight illumination. Tickets for Rudi & the Rudiments are $35 in advance; and $40 after 5 p.m. on the day of the concert, if available.
Concerts are open seating and chairs are in the cave. Entry/ exit to the cave is via 126 steps, with no wheelchair access to the cave. The year-round temperature is 66 degrees with 100% humidity, and guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
