Greyhound water polo teams play Brandeis and Health Careers

The Greyhound water polo teams were in action last Saturday as they continued district play against Brandeis and Health Careers.

District play continues this Saturday for the Boerne High squads as they square off against Marshall and Clark at the Northside Natatorium.

During last Saturday’s matches, the Lady Greyhounds trounced Health Careers, 23-2, and lost to the Lady Broncos of Brandeis, 19-6. They are 2-6 overall and 1-3 in district.

In their win over Health Careers, Makenna Henson tallied five goals, Gentry Jendrusch added four goals and Michelle Mendoza also hit for four goals, while Bonnie Johnson scored three goals as the team knocked in eight goals in the first quarter and closed it with seven goals in the final stanza.

In their 19-6 loss to Brandeis, Boerne’s best quarter came in the second when they scored half of their goals, followed by another goal in the third and two more in the fourth.

On the boys side, the Boerne boys were defeated by Brandeis, 18-2, and also tangled with Health Careers on Saturday. The Greyhounds are 0-8 overall and 0-4 in district.
