All four 11-man football teams were affected by the weather Friday night and one of the games – Boerne at Davenport – ended late in the third quarter with the Greyhounds recording the win.
Boerne Champion 55, Cedar Creek 0
The Chargers opened district play with a 55-0 win over Cedar Creek at BISD Stadium in a game that was delayed 30 minutes and didn’t kick off until 7:30 p.m. because of lightning strikes in the area.
Caleb Farias ran for three touchdowns and now has seven rushing TDs this year to help the Chargers improve to 3-0.
Champion has tallied 62, 60 and 55 points in their three games this year.
The Chargers visit Kyle Lehman on Friday.
Boerne High 30, Davenport 21
The Greyhounds were on the road and defeated Davenport in a battle of unbeaten teams.
Boerne improves to 3-0 and hosts Somerset on Friday at BISD Stadium, 7 p.m.
Callan Combs ran for more than 300 yards in the game that was stopped late in the third quarter with 1:12 left. After a short wait, they decided to call it there.
Geneva 50, Shiner St. Paul 0
Geneva was sharp on both sides of the ball as the Eagles defeated Shiner St. Paul 55-0 to close out non-district on Friday in a game delayed for more than two hours.
The 4-0 Eagles open league play at Brazos Christian on Friday.
Geneva has tallied 48, 49, 49 and 50 points in their four wins, while Friday’s shutout was the first of the year for the defense.
Ingram Moore 34, Comfort 6
Comfort hosted Ingram Moore on Friday for homecoming and the Warriors were able to defeat the Bobcats, 34-6, in a game that didn’t start until 7:30 p.m. because of lightning strikes in the Hill Country.
CHS is 1-2 and visits Johnson City on Friday.
Bobcat running back Gabe Gonzalez was named homecoming king.
