LAW ENFORCEMENT

The following is a brief, partial recap of incidents reported by the Boerne Police Department and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. General locations are listed rather than specific addresses. An arrest should not imply guilt or innocence, which will be decided in court at a later date. BOERNE POLICE DEPARTMENT

January 13

2:10 a.m., 10 block Scenic Loop- A woman was arrested after an officer requested assistance for a woman for unknown reasons.

5:30 a.m., 801 River Rd.- A woman first called to report she heard voices outside her residence, and she was hiding in her shower. After being transported to the emergency room, she reported her cousin was trying to steal her car.

10 a.m., 240 Johns Rd.- A 13-yearold student at Boerne Middle School North was reported as having a seizure.

2:02 p.m., 106 City Park- A grass fire ignited at the entrance to Boerne City park.

7:12 p.m., 1223 S. Main St.- Walgreens employees asked a deputy to come keep the peace after a vehicle broke down in the pharmacy drive through and other customers began yelling at the driver.

11:10 p.m., 31700 I-10 W.- A man was arrested during a traffic stop.

Officers also conducted six security checks, made 20 traffic stops, assisted the public 16 times, removed a traffic hazard and worked six false alarms, one non-injury accident and one reckless driver.

January 14

7:53 a.m., 201 E. San Antonio Ave.- The power went out at the Kendall County Courthouse.

9:44 a.m., 420 W. Bandera Rd.- A woman said her son was verbally assaulted at H-E-B a few days prior, and he wanted to press charges. The mother said she left several messages with officers and never heard back.

10:14 a.m., 543 MM I-10 W.- A man said a FedEx truck was tailgating him, going about 80 miles per hour. Officers couldn’t locate the speedy delivery vehicle.

11:47 a.m., 1693 River Rd.- A man wanted to know who was watching him on the three cameras at the Circle K. He then was upset the officer who arrived at the location “was not educated on what’s going on.”

Officers also conducted nine security checks, made 18 traffic stops, assisted the public 10 times and worked seven false alarms, three non-injury accidents, one animal call and five reckless drivers.

January 15

7:53 a.m., School Street and West San Antonio Avenue- A street sign went missing at the four-way stop. It was then found to have been knocked over.

11:51 a.m., 8 Staudt St.- A man in a white pickup truck went to the Kendall County jail to report stolen property from the 300 block of Menger Springs. He was put in contact with an officer.

1:42 p.m., 1379 S. Main St.- A man was waiting in line for a gas pump when someone cut him in line, backing into his vehicle twice and driving away.

6:07 p.m., 300 block S. Brackenridge- A man first wanted to report his BMW stolen, but he located it about 20 minutes later.

Officers also conducted five security checks, made four traffic stops, assisted the public 19 times, removed three traffic hazards and worked nine false alarms and six non-injury accidents.

January 16

2:19 a.m., 300 block Sandy Shoal- Unknown subjects through a bottle of liquid at a man’s 2007 Chevy Tahoe.

10:52 a.m., 600 block Rosewood Ave.- A man reported three vagrants were camping in his backyard.

1:28 p.m., 600 block Rosewood Ave.- A woman placed checks to pay bills in her mailbox a week prior, but none of the checks had been cashed and none of her bills were paid.

10:01 p.m., 100 block Cimarron Creek- A gray SUV kept driving around looking at construction sites and flashing a flashlight.

11:35 p.m., 115 W. Bandera Rd.- A woman suspected a man was stealing from the donated items outside the thrift store, saying he was breaking things down and putting them in a gold Suburban.

Officers also conducted six security checks, made 12 traffic stops, assisted the public 13 times and worked two false alarms.

KENDALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

January 13

8:10 p.m., 604 Esperanza- Herff Elementary employees notified deputies of a child abuse case.

12:51 p.m., 300 block Someday Dr.- A woman was receiving unwanted sexual images on her phone.

1:47 p.m., 300 block Flat Rock Creek Rd.- AirLife was called after a bike crashed, causing the rider to receive a head injury.

1:50 p.m., Joe Klar Road and Hwy 46 E.- A Toyota RAV4 and Volvo SUV collided, causing an 83-year-old woman to complain of chest pain and bleeding and the other driver to complain of ankle pain and a cut on their hand.

4:33 p.m., Hwy 46 and Ammann Road- A driver called to complain about the traffic signal at the intersection, saying drivers aren’t used to yielding to traffic exiting Ammann Road.

7:55 p.m., Kasten Road- A mother reported her 14-year-old daughter was continuously causing problems because she refused to take her medication for bipolar disorder. The mother said the daughter threw a cup of soda at her shortly before she called and was now packing a bag to leave.

Deputies also made 18 traffic stops, assisted the public 12 times, removed a traffic hazard, served a warrant and worked three false alarms, one animal call and seven reckless drivers.

January 14

8:01 a.m., FM 3351 and Guthrie Road- A woman reported a vehicle was going down Ralph Fair Road with a recently busted windshield. The driver was stopped. She didn’t want to report an accident, as a turkey had struck her windshield while driving.

1:56 p.m., 6 Staudt St.- A woman called a deputy back, and dispatchers found she had four active warrants in Kendall County. She didn’t answer when deputies attempted to call her back.

2:22 p.m., FM 473- A trailer was reported stolen.

4:56 p.m., 100 block Mountain Springs Dr.- A man felt uncomfortable with a woman staying on the property he was leasing. The woman was friends with the property owner’s daughter.

7:47 p.m., 100 block Idlewilde Blvd.- A woman suspected her neighbor was snooping around her backyard with a flashlight when she heard banging on the side of her house.

Deputies also made 22 traffic stops, assisted the public 11 times, removed two traffic hazards, served three warrants and worked five false alarms, two non-injury accidents, three animal calls and three reckless drivers.

January 15

12:54 a.m., 526 MM I-10 W.- A truck flipped on the state highway, causing the driver to have compound fractures to both ankles. Emergency responders applied two tourniquets to the patient and requested AirLife, but all helicopters were grounded due to weather. By 1:32 a.m., an ambulance made the scene and transported the patient to University Hospital.

1:53 p.m., 100 block Sage Oaks Trail- A woman was concerned when a man pulled up to her house in a red truck with a ladder on it. She said he rang her doorbell and seemed to try to open her front door. A deputy stopped the man who was leaving business cards on residents’ front door for his tree service business.

4:08 p.m., 100 block Red Bird Court- A woman reported her friend had been fighting with her husband all day and was now turning that hostility toward the caller. She said her friend pulled her hair and wouldn’t let her leave, holding her keys hostage.

Deputies also made 22 traffic stops, assisted the public eight times, removed four traffic hazards and worked nine false alarms, one non-injury accident, three animal calls and five reckless drivers.

January 16

1:27 a.m., 8 Staudt St.- An assault was reported at the Kendall County jail.

10:58 a.m., 531 MM I-10 W.- The mother of a teenage driver from New Mexico was issued four citations during a traffic stop when a deputy found three children were sitting on the laps of passengers without child seats.

10:58 a.m., 580 Sunflower- A man reported his 2005 Dodge Ram was stolen overnight with a gun in the center console.

12:39 p.m., 100 block Blaschke Rd.- A homeowner was issued a citation for ignoring the burn ban.

3:54 p.m., 100 block Upper Balcones Rd.- Firefighters spent about an hour putting out an accidental fire that reached about an acre in size.

Deputies also made 25 traffic stops, assisted the public six times, removed a traffic hazard and worked three false alarms and one animal call.
