Richardson

David Dee Richardson passed from this earthly home on May 7, 2023, in Comfort, Texas, due to complications of Dementia and congestive heart failure. David was born June 1, 1937, in Belen, New Mexico to Mabry D. Richardson and Angeline May Kindrick.

He was a veteran of the USAF during the Korean Conflict and married Mary Sue Campbell December 22, 1956, in Las Cruces, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years in 2010, and his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson, James. He is survived by his three sons: Gary of Oracle, AZ, Steve of Elko, NM, and Bryan (Lori) of Boerne, TX; five grandchildren: Keisha, David (Ana), Landry (Matt), Zach (Morgan), Avery; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Jameson.

David was a longtime resident of Alamogordo, High Rolls, and La Luz until dementia forced him to move to Texas for care. He most recently resided at the Texas House and Comfort Nursing Home. He spent the majority of his life as a carpenter. He became an ordained minister in 1979 in Mammoth, AZ then went back to construction in 1980. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist in Alamogordo until he moved to Texas.

David’s final wish was to be with his wife and at a future date their ashes will be spread in the New Mexico Mountains they loved so much.

Much thanks to the nurses of Embrace and Comfort Nursing Home for taking care of our Dad in his final days and a special thanks to Chris Papacek of Texan House for keeping tabs on Dad to keep him from “fixing” things.
