BOERNE — The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature hosts a Legislative Town Hall meeting from 2-3:30 p.m. Feb. 8 to discuss legislation Boerne residents desire to see passed by the state Legislature.
The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature was authorized by the Texas Legislature in 1985 to serve as a voice for aging Texans. TSHL is nonpartisan, all-volunteer, self-funded, nonprofit and supported by the TSHL Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) organization.
The meeting at the Heath Public Library, 451 N. Main St. in Boerne, is free and open to the public.
Among topics being brought up for discussions are: criminal justice; human services; pensions, investments, insurance, financial services; retirement and aging; state affairs; utilities and natural resources.
These topics align with the Texas State Legislature committees for publicly-elected senators and representatives.
There are currently 10,000 residents age 65 and better living in Kendall County.
Those planning to attend are asked to contact Ed Rogers, TSHL deputy speaker pro tempore, at: [email protected], or with a text to 210-296-7609.
