Lady Hounds drop match to Unicorns to end first round of 26-5A action

Boerne High ended the first round of District 26-5A volleyball last week with a couple of tough games.

They hosted district leader Pieper last Tuesday and then visited second-place New Braunfels last Friday.

The Lady Greyhounds dropped both those matches and were defeated by New Braunfels last Friday on the road, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22.

BHS is 3-5 in district and 18-10 overall. They are currently in sixth place in 26-5A through the first round and visited Wagner on Tuesday to start secondround action. The Stegall’s paced the team in kills after Aubree Stegall finished with 8 kills and Paige Stegall added 7 kills, while Holly Reeder and Kaylie Bourn both had 4 kills.

Lauren Magnus tallied 3 aces and Haley Wheeler dropped in 2 aces, while Presley Mullins added 1 ace.

Bourn and Paige Stegall both came up with 4 blocks and Reeder tallied 3 blocks, Wheeler totaled 9 digs and Reeder had 4 digs.

Magnus and Calynn Ramos both chipped in with 12 assists.
